Welcome address

On behalf of the Swiss National Stop Smoking Program "Smoking is harmful... Let it be" I welcome you to the Oral Health Network on Tobacco Prevention and Cessation (OHNTPC).

The OHNTPC consists of members worldwide who share interests in training oral health professionals about tobacco use prevention and cessation.

You will be able to become a member of our network by registering for free on this website.

Through e-mails, online discussions and references from the scientific literature, we will provide you with the appropriate information needed to initiate, develop and maintain the teaching aids for all members of the dental team within your educational environment.

In return, please share your own experiences in the field with other OHNTPC members to enrich the training of faculty and students worldwide.

I encourage you to visit this website from time to time. It will serve as a platform for information exchange and an up-to-date resource on the scientific evidence reported in the literature. Points of emphasis will include the effects of tobacco use on oral health, the impact of tobacco use counseling in dental practices, the development of education and training of oral health professionals as well as announcements of upcoming workshops and conferences.

Your comments and feedback are most welcome. They will help us to enhance the development of our website to better meet your needs over time.

With my very best regards

Dr. Christoph A. Ramseier
